About

I know, 5 stars across the board... but it’s true. Juliet went above and beyond in getting our house on the market, sold and closed. First day, Juliet showed up prepared and ready. She communicated clearly About the process, the terms of our relationship and her proposed strategy. Once we decided to proceed, she took to it and started arranging everything. We went on the market, had a whirlwind week of showings and open houses and by the next week she had negotiated a very pleasing offer. Between this point and closing, Juliet went beyond all that was expected. Our home and legal arrangements had special difficulties and requirements that she handled with the proper strength, grace and knowledge needed to navigate our little mine field. I can’t emphasize enough what a good job she did bringing this house to closing. If you want someone strong, knowledgeable, competent and bright fighting for you, talk to her.”

Snow

Protect Your Pipes from Freezing

  • Insulate exposed pipes in unheated areas with foam pipe insulation.

  • Keep cabinet doors open to let warm air circulate around pipes under sinks, especially if located on an exterior wall.

  • Let faucets drip during extreme cold to prevent pipes from freezing.

Clear Snow and Ice Responsibly

  • Keep walkways and driveways clear of snow and ice to prevent slips and falls.

  • Use a snow rake to remove heavy snow from your roof to avoid ice dams, which can cause leaks and damage.

  • Check and clear gutters to ensure proper drainage when snow melts.

Seal Drafts and Improve Insulation

  • Inspect and seal gaps around windows, doors, and other openings with weather stripping or caulking.

  • Add or replace insulation in attics, basements, and walls to improve energy efficiency.

  • Use draft stoppers at the base of doors to keep out cold air.

Check Safety Equipment

  • Test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, replacing batteries if necessary.

  • Have your chimney cleaned and inspected if you use a fireplace.

  • Keep a fire extinguisher handy and ensure everyone in the household knows how to use it.

Maintain Your Heating System

  • Replace or clean furnace filters regularly to keep your heating system running efficiently.

  • Schedule an annual inspection of your HVAC system to ensure it’s in good working order.

  • Clean vents and registers to ensure proper airflow.

Inspect and Service Your Roof

  • Check for damaged, loose, or missing shingles to prevent leaks.

  • Ensure flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights is secure and watertight.

  • Trim overhanging tree branches to reduce the risk of damage from falling limbs during storms.
